Dreams DO come true!
Way back around 1975, I was riding my old Huffy 10-speed to work and back, a distance of 10 miles each way. It was a fun time, and I had a dream of riding my bike from Los Angeles to San Francisco sometime in the future. Little did I know that the dream would come true 29 years later when I joined the Arthritis Foundations fund raising ride from Pier 39 in San Francisco to Santa Monica pier in Los Angeles. The California Coast Classic Bicycle Tour is a fund raising event to help the fight against arthritis, takes 8 days to complete, and covers approximately 525 miles. So in 2004, at the age of 63, I accomplished my dream. But it wasn't on that old Huffy, and for 25 of those years I didn't ride at all. Sometimes life gets in the way of dreams, but, then, it wouldn't be much of a dream if it came too easy!
